Red Nose Day in the Nursery
We wore odd socks too.

Blendavenda!
Today a man called Robert showed us a special bike called the Blendavenda.
We added some fruit to the blender and then we had to pedal to make the blender work! We then got to taste our hard work, the smoothie was delicious.
Some of Year 2 brought their bikes to school. They were all serviced to make them safe to ride and we rode our bikes around a circuit in the playground. We really enjoyed ourselves!

BIG Bugs!
Today Year 2 learnt about some fascinating bugs. A man called Martin showed us some bugs and told us some facts about them.
We saw and heard some hissing cockroaches, held a leaf insect, saw some millipedes crawl across the floor and even stroked a scorpion!
Some of us were a little unsure about stroking Lucy the red-kneed tarantula ...
We really enjoyed it and learned lots!

Children in Need
Children in Need day was a great success. We had a very 'spotty' day.
Mrs Ovenden made Pudsey Bear biscuits for lunch which were delicious.
The staff and children dressed up in their best 'spotty' outfits.
We stuck £1 coins onto Pudsey Bear.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!
We like to recycle at Village Infants. Today Year 2 learnt more about how to reduce, reuse and recycle our rubbish.
Now we know where to put our rubbish.
Tin cans, plastic bottles, thin card and paper go in the orange bags.
Glass bottles and jars go in the blue box.
We have also learnt not to waste water to help save the environment. We learnt some good water habits when we watched the water pantomime.
We have really enjoyed it. Please help us to save water by using all your good water habits.

Sports Week
We had lots of fun during sports week last week.
These photos are class Capri enjoying football training with West Ham.
This is the William Ford play leaders leading whole school Tenergy (ten minutes of daily activity)
Year 2 street dancing with Diversity (on the change 4 life website... https://dance.change4life.com/letsdance_learnmoves.aspx )
We all took part in a skipping workshop with our classes then shared what we had learnt in a whole school assembly.
The sun shone at our sponsored walk!
We participated in a whole school sports fun day to finish the week.
