Year 2 had a Victorian Day at school. We had fun being Victorian children. We  had Victorian names and wore clothes from that era.  Also we did handwriting, maths and poetry. The whole of Year 2 did a drill and sang the national anthem and we ended the day with the Lord's Prayer.

Olympic Torch

Today two of the original 1948 Olympic torches came to our school. The torch is being passed across all the London boroughs. We were able to touch it. It was very exciting. Year 2 took the torch to Dagenham Park School who were then taking it to John Perry. It would then be passed to Havering.

Sports Fun Day

Class Sierra really enjoyed the sack race, it was fantastic.
We liked bouncing up and down.

Class Sierra found the dressing up race funny and lots of fun.
The boys did not like putting the handbags on.
The girls did not like putting the mens coats on.
But we all had lots of fun and we laughed a lot.

The Ragged School

Today class Capri  went to the Ragged School.

A man called Chris taught us how to be Victorian children. We learnt that children didn't always go to school but they had to go to work or stay at home to do the chores.

Tuesday was ironing day

Some children worked on the docks gutting fish!

We then got to meet Miss Perkins. She was a very strict Victorian teacher...

If you were naughty you will either have to wear the finger stocks, back brace or even the dunces hat!

We had a lovely day today!
